The proposal consists of a two-storey side extension together with a single-storey rear extension to the existing semi-detached dwelling. The development has been designed to increase the overall internal accommodation of the property, providing additional bedroom space at first floor level alongside improved and more functional living accommodation at ground floor level.
The extensions have been carefully designed to appear subservient to the original dwelling whilst remaining in keeping with the scale, proportions and character of the host property and surrounding residential area. Matching facing brickwork, roof tiles, windows and external detailing are proposed throughout to ensure a cohesive appearance and seamless integration with the existing house.
The rear extension creates a larger open-plan kitchen and dining space with improved connections to the rear garden through the introduction of glazed patio doors and rooflights, allowing increased levels of natural daylight into the home.
